It’s Zippy Tip Tuesday!
I switched to reusable grocery bags years ago.
All it took was for me to see a video of a bird who had gotten a plastic bag handle stuck around its neck at a landfill, and I quit cold turkey.
Well, not exactly cold turkey. A couple of months went by when I would forget and leave the darned things at home. Then I thought I would be smart and store them in my car, but I’d forget them in there too! Finally, I got the hang of it, and the process of carrying them into the store became second nature.
But I know many of us use the plastic bags to hold garbage, line wastebaskets, clean out the kitty litter box etc.
If that is the case, I think it is a good idea to give the handles a snip. That way, our precious wildlife creatures stand a better chance of not getting into harm’s way. The same thing goes for those little plastic rings that hold six packs of beverages. Just give each ring a snip, and they’ll be safer in the landfills.
Thank you.
I thank you, and all the little chickies and duckies and birdies out there thank you too!

Mom always said it is nice to share!
Thank you Miss Sherry. I saw a story on this years ago. I do use plastic bags but I take them back to the store and recycle them, In this area I know Kroger and Meijer have a bin to put them in.
Thanks, Irene. Martin’s does too. Good point!
